Sustainability
Tradition meets modern brewing expertise
Tradition meets modern brewing expertise
Our privately-owned brewery is still here today because we think in full cycles – and have done from the very beginning. Sustainable management starts with the healthy soil needed to grow barley and hops for Stiegl beers. It continues by keeping beer brewing resources in circulation for as long as possible, and the multiple re-use of certain raw materials. Ultimately, Stiegl serves a circular economy by constantly researching new methods and developing innovative concepts.
Our sustainability strategy involves setting long-term goals, and planning measures according to the following principle: The quality of our goals determines the quality of our future.

Sustainable production
The Purity Law of 1516 says a good beer should only be made from hops, water, yeast and malt.
Slow Brewing
We focus on slow fermentation and careful
maturation rather than fast brewing processes.
That’s why we are one of only four breweries
in Austria to bear the Slow Brewing
seal of approval, one of the toughest quality seals
in the international beer market, since 2013.
